What to give your favorite collector as a gift? The problem is you never know just what they already have. There are lots of choices, you can find something new that just came out or maybe find a related item that they don't collect -- yet.

If I am giving something unusual or hard to find, I usually print some information or an article to tuck in the gift. Folks love to know more about the history of the company or product.

Here are a few ideas from funny to serious, in all price ranges.

  • Photo Studio In-A-Box
My number one pick for collectors who like to take pictures of their collection or sell on eBay. I can't say enough good things about this product. I have it, I use it and don't know how I got along without it.
  • How to Think Like a Collector
At first glance I wasn't too crazy about Rinker's latest book, "How to Think Like a Collector". It's actually a scary premise, thinking like Rinker. Without a doubt he is one of the top experts in the country, he is also known for his (very) strong opinions and is always ready to tell anyone just what they are.
  • Radko Cookie Jars
A house is not a home without a cookie jar, especially during the holidays! Radko cookie jars are not only collectible, they're gorgeous!
  • Robert Sabuda's Pop-up Books
I've been giving these as gifts for years and recently saw the prices of some of the discontinued Sabuda cards. Wow! These books are very collectible, very different and will absolutely enchant anyone that gets one.
  • Autographed Baseballs
One of the great gifts for a collector or for youself, an autographed baseball of your favorite player. Lots of choices in a whide price range.
  • Terrific Magazines for Collectors
As a collector, I love collectibles magazines and know that I am not alone in that feeling. It's especially gratifying to find one that talks to you, covers just what you collect and want to read more about. These are all terrific picks for the right collector!
  • The Gift of Believing, A Silver Bell
Give the gift of believing in Santa. Can you hear the silver sleigh bell?
  • Comic and Movie Monopoly Games
If you collect it -- they make a Monopoly game depicting it. Dozens of subjects are available, after all if you're a Disney collector it just makes it more fun to play a Mickey Mouse themed game.
  • Betty Boop
Betty is one of the top licensees for many companies. People just love her. These picks include an assortment of bobble heads from Funko, they're fun and inexpensive!
  • Nativity Sets
Celebrating and decorating for Christmas for many people would not be complete without setting out their nativity set. The most beautiful ones are usually expensive and the best way to collect an heirloom nativity is a starting out with the main figures and adding to the set every year.
  • The Polar Express
The Polar Express is a magical and classic book about a trip to the North Pole with Santa. The story book has enchanted readers and children for years and now that there are go-withs it will only enhance the experience of the movie for both young and old.
  • Baseball Fans
For the baseball fans in your life there are numerous gifts and collectibles that they would love to get. Since I have big baseball fans in my family, I always wind up buying something baseball-related for at least a few gifts.
  • Fleece Afghan
Some folks I know have made dozens of these, each fabric carefully selected for the recipient. Each year more licensed fabrics are available and you're sure to find something that fits.
