| Guide Picks - Top 5 McCoy Reference Books | ||
| A collector can never have too many books and McCoy collectors have a great variety to pick from. All of the McCoy books I've checked out have excellent pictures and resources. With all the reproductions and fakes being sold, reference books are a must for the serious collector. | ||

1) McCoy Pottery Collector's Reference and Value Guide, Vol 3 Authors Bob Hanson, Craig Nissen and Margaret Hanson One of the newer offerings in the McCoy reference books, published in October 2001. Well known collectors have highly praised this third book from these authors.

2) Collector's Encyclopedia of McCoy Pottery Authors Sharon & Bob Huxford Originally published in 1990, but is available with updated values. Pages of historical pictures, reference and line drawings of the McCoy marks used through out the years. The pictures are clear and simply done. This book is a classic.

3) McCoy Pottery Collector's Reference and Value Guide, Vol 2 Bob Hanson, Craig Nissen and Margaret Hanson 1999 is the year of publication for the second book for these authors. Numerous catalog pages make this great reference for McCoy addicts. The book is certainly worth adding to your bookshelf, and although they are very cute, I could do without the pictures of the dogs and babies in the vases and planters. (Note: Not that many, but were still distracting)

4) Sanfords Guide to Brush-McCoy Pottery by Martha Sanford, Steve, Steve Sanford (Photographer), David Sanford (Editor) I do not have any of the McCoy books from the Sanfords, but McCoy and pottery collectors have given these authors great reviews. I'll be adding at least one to my library.
