Vintage Lunch Box Makes Trip to Outer Space
Sunday August 7, 2005
How cool is this? News-Antique.com reports that astronaut Steve Robinson has carried his "astronaut" tools in a Tom Corbett Space Cadet lunch box aboard the Discovery.
I love the fact that he didn't just put the lunch box on a shelf, he uses it despite the fact that it has earthbound value of around $350. Although my lunch boxes don't travel quite that far, I have an old metal Snoopy lunch box filled with a tape dispenser, masking tape, scissors, stapler for when I travel to shows. And an old Woody Woodpecker lunch box stores computer disks with pictures of my collections and a third one holds our first aid supplies! What do you store in your lunch boxes? Let me know!
